Soon after the announcement of XT versions of AMD desktop processors, the results of gaming testing of one of the "red" novelties appeared on the network. The rival of the upcoming Ryzen 5 3600XT was Intel Core i5-10400 with the same number of cores and execution threads - the virtual "battle" was intense.
The six-core AMD chip operates at a base clock speed of 3.8 GHz, and in automatic overclocking mode it reaches 4.5 GHz. The Intel processor, in turn, has a more modest operating range - from 2.9 to 4.3 GHz. As a test platform, the specialists of the Teclab portal used motherboards based on AMD B550 chipsets with DDR4-3600 (15-16-16-28) and Intel Z490 (DDR4-4000, CL15-15-16-36) memory, and for graphic capabilities the stand was answered by the video card Radeon RX 5600 XT.
Despite the more affordable price and lower frequencies, in most gaming disciplines at 1080p screen resolution the "blue" chip became the leader, slightly inferior to the new AMD product only in two of the eight launched titles: CS: GO and Assassin's Creed Odyssey. It is noteworthy that the Intel processor also has a lower TDP - 65 W versus 90 W for the competitor.
The start of sales of AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT is scheduled for July 7 this year at a price of $ 249.
